Our Stream Team continues to grow this month, and we’re happy to introduce our newest addition to the ROG family, Dethridge!
Before he became a streamer, Dethridge was creating Call of Duty commentary videos on YouTube between 2011 and 2012, and it was during this time where he realized that he loved to talk: specifically about video games and video game culture. It wasn’t until one day when he was browsing YouTube that he discovered Twitch and livestreaming through a World of Warcraft creator’s blog (Towelliee). Falling in love instantaneously with the concept of livestreaming, Dethridge, from that day forward, decided to save up for a streaming rig in the hopes of pursuing his dream on Twitch. Since then, Dethridge has been streaming for over 4 years, starting from late 2012 till now. He became a Twitch partner in 2013, and has amassed over 270,000 followers on the platform since then.
“I am a variety streamer who will play just about anything. Mainly though, I love being a part of a conversation. Simulator games and building games allow for some downtime where I can just play and chat with my viewers. When we play other games and experience them, one of my favorite things to do is to talk about them. You can also find me playing a lot of PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds!”
Dethridge’s story of falling in love with livestreaming moved us, and because of this, we wanted to help him to further expand on his Twitch dream. To help him with his gaming and streaming career, we’re giving him a GD30 Gaming Desktop, a PG278Q gaming monitor, an ROG Claymore Core keyboard, a Gladius II mouse, and an ROG Sheath mousepad.
When asked about his feelings regarding his ASUS ROG sponsorship, Dethridge goes: “It really is a dream come true. I have been streaming on Twitch for over 4 years, and I pour my heart and soul into it. From the time I wake up to the time I go to sleep, it’s nearly all I think about. Being a part of an amazing community alone is the greatest feeling in the world. With an amazing company like ASUS ROG recognizing this and wanting to provide a means of pursuing this dream even further, it means the world. I am proud and honored to be a part of the Republic of Gamers.”
